Envision Energy India, in collaboration with Juniper Green Energy, has commissioned a 5 MW wind turbine in India as part of ongoing renewable energy expansion in the country. The turbine features a 182-metre rotor diameter and a 105.56-metre hub height with a tubular steel tower. It is currently the largest wind turbine by rotor diameter installed in India.
Germany awards 2.5 GW of onshore wind capacity in oversubscribed May auction

Germany's Federal Network Agency has published the results of its 1 May 2026 auctions for onshore wind and innovation projects, with both tenders significantly oversubscribed. The onshore wind auction offered 2,495 MW of capacity and attracted 628 bids totalling 6,409 MW. The agency awarded 270 projects with a combined capacity of 2,499 MW, while 13 bids were excluded from the process.
USA wind and solar generation grows as renewable capacity expansion accelerates

New data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), reviewed by the Sun Day Campaign, shows that wind power continued to expand its contribution to the USA electricity mix during the first four months of 2026, while wind, solar and battery storage are expected to account for more than 78.5 GW of new generating capacity by April 2027. Over the same period, total fossil fuel and nuclear generating capacity is projected to decline by more than 5.2 GW.

ABO Energy has secured contracts for three onshore wind projects with a combined capacity of 61.4 MW in the German Federal Network Agency's May 2026 auction. The awarded projects comprise one 7 MW Nordex N163 turbine at Ohlenbüttel in Lower Saxony, the 26.4 MW Hünxe wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia with four Siemens Gamesa 6.6 MW turbines, and the 28 MW Willingen wind farm in Hesse with four Nordex N163 turbines rated at 7 MW each.
RWE opens new offshore wind control centre in East Frisia, Germany
