TotalEnergies has submitted an application for the single authorisation of its 1.5 GW Centre Manche Eneries offshore wind project, eight months after the project was awarded by the French State. The offshore wind farm is planned around 40 km off the coast of Normandy, France. The application includes technical and environmental surveys, a preliminary wind farm design and the planned installation programme.
The environmental impact assessment incorporates survey findings, discussions with government departments and feedback gathered during consultations with regional stakeholders.
The permitting process will now move to the dossier completion and government review stage. Centre Manche Energies will continue consultations with local authorities, environmental organisations, seafarers and the public during the process.
The project represents an investment of €4.5 billion. Construction is expected to last three years and employ up to 2,500 people. Once operational, the offshore wind farm is expected to generate around 6 TWh of electricity annually.
