Through its Japanese joint venture Japan Offshore Marine, Deme has secured a contract for the Oga–Katagami–Akita offshore wind project in Japan. The contract covers engineering work and vessel charter for the offshore installation of 21 wind turbines under an agreement between Oga Katagami Akita Offshore Green Energy and Penta-Ocean Construction.

Japan Offshore Marine will install 21 Vestas V236-15 MW turbines, giving the project a total capacity of 315 MW. Installation work will be carried out by the jack-up offshore transport and installation vessel Sea Challenger, which is expected to sail under the Japanese flag before offshore operations begin. Offshore works are scheduled to start in the second half of 2027.
