The Salamander Offshore Wind Farm has received Section 36 Consent and associated Marine Licences, granting approval from the Scottish Government to construct and operate the proposed floating wind array. The project is being developed by a joint venture between Ørsted, Simply Blue Group and Subsea7.
The floating array, with a planned capacity of up to 100 MW, will be located approximately 35 kilometres off the coast of Peterhead. The project received onshore Planning Permission in Principle in March 2025 for its associated onshore infrastructure. Attention now turns to securing an Option Agreement with Crown Estate Scotland, followed by preparations to bid for a Contract for Difference.
