Highview Power Storage and Encore Renewable Energy to co-develop liquid air energy storage system in the USA

Highview Power Storage and Encore Renewable Energy have announced plans to develop the United States’ first long duration, liquid air energy storage system. This facility will be a minimum of 50MW, provide in excess of eight hours of storage (400MWh) and will be located in northern Vermont, USA. The facility will enable the efficient transport of excess power from renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power to help integrate them on the power grid.

Vattenfall closes wind power project for winter

Vattenfall closes wind farm for winterConstruction of Vattenfall's onshore wind farm, Blakliden & Fäbodberget in northern Sweden, is now closing down for the winter season. When winter comes, bringing heavy snow and frost, the work is paused. Vattenfall has also agreed with affected Sami villages to break off work for the winter to make things easier for reindeer herding in the area. Construction will be resumed in the spring.

Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has advised Credit Suisse Energy Infrastructure Partners (CSEIP) on the € 340 million financing of the acquisition of a 25% stake in the Arkona offshore wind farm from Norwegian energy company Equinor.

First turbine installed at Northwester 2 offshore wind farmParkwind and MHI Vestas have confirmed the completion of the first turbine at Northwester 2 in Belgium, off Jan de Nul’s Vole au vent vessel. The 219MW project will consist of 23 V164.9-5MW turbines to spin 50 km off the coast of Ostend in Belgium.
