Elwind has signed a contract with the University of Tartu to carry out a survey of benthic communities, habitats, sediments, and water quality in the Estonian section of its proposed offshore wind project. The aim of the study is to map seabed habitats, assess current ecological conditions, and identify conservation values and natural features of the marine environment.
The findings will contribute to the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the Estonian part of the Elwind project. The research will cover both the planned wind farm area and the proposed cable corridors linking the site to shore. The study is expected to take approximately 18 months.
