Huisman has received a contract to deliver two 250-tonne knuckle boom cranes for new offshore energy support vessels being built for Sea1 Offshore. The vessels are of the ST-245 design. The order, placed by Cosco Shipping, follows a previous contract for two identical cranes awarded at the end of 2024.
The cranes will be equipped with Huisman’s Active Heave Compensation system, which connects the electric crane system to the vessel’s direct current (DC) grid. This integration enables more efficient use of the vessel’s electrical energy storage system and reduces overall energy consumption during offshore lifting operations.
