Owens Corning’s Glass Reinforcements business has signed a Letter of Intent with Gjenkraft to develop scalable, circular solutions for post-industrial composite waste. The collaboration will focus on integrating high-quality recycled fibers from Gjenkraft’s thermolysis process into Owens Corning’s glass fiber products.
This approach aims to reduce landfill contributions and provide manufacturers with new ways to recycle and reuse composite materials. Key objectives of the partnership include:
Optimising materials: Incorporating recycled glass fibers from Gjenkraft’s process into Owens Corning production streams.
Scaling recycling technology: Expanding Gjenkraft’s thermolysis technology to enable efficient industrial-scale composite waste processing.
Building circular systems: Creating end-to-end systems to manage composite materials throughout their lifecycle, from collection to recycling.
Gjenkraft develops and operates recycling technology with a focus on wind turbine blades.
