From October 26th to 28th, 2006, Delft University of Technology will host an International Workshop on Large-Scale Integration of Wind Power and Transmission Networks for Offshore Wind Farms organised by the German energy consulting company Energynautics in cooperation with the Technical University Delft, Netherlands, and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden.

The WindEnergy - International Trade Fair, cooperates with three further wind associations - the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA), the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and the Japanese Wind Power Association (JWPA) are now giving their support to the industry's event.

The British wind industry will be showcased at WindEnergy 2006 with its own national pavilion. Trade visitors will also receive first-hand information in country presentations in the supporting programme, giving information on the legal and economic conditions and on future developments in this key target market.

The Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA) is the new cooperation partner of WindEnergy 2006 – International Trade Fair. CREIA is China’s largest renewable energies association, with more than 100 member companies, and will from now on give its support and backing to WindEnergy as the exclusive trade fair in Europe. This partnership enables WindEnergy to develop one of the largest growth markets in the energy sector. China's electricity demand is practically exploding. The Government in Beijing set the course for renewables with entry into force of the Renewable Energies Act on 1 January 2006, aiming to derive 10 per cent of the country's power from renewable energy sources by 2010. The intention is to install wind turbines with a total output of 4000MW by then, rising to about 20,000MW by 2020. By comparison, China reported 764MW at year end 2004.

Artenergy, the Italian Publishing House for renewable energies, and the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) have signed an agreement that provides collaboration for the initiatives that they will organise until 2008. Artenergy will also be the local organiser of EWEC – European Wind Energy Conference and Exhibition – 2007, and it will support EWEA by means of logistic and press office activities.
