The Dutch government is increasing financial support for two new offshore wind farms in the North Sea. By raising the maximum tender prices for IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A and Gamma-B, the cabinet expects sufficient market interest to enable the development of 2 GW of new wind capacity. Both sites will be brought to market through subsidy tenders in November, with commissioning expected around 2032.
The maximum tender price for IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A has been increased from €104 per megawatt hour (MWh) to €117/MWh. For IJmuiden Ver Gamma-B, the ceiling rises from €103/MWh to €116/MWh.
Total budget provisioning amounts to approximately €6.2 billion. Actual expenditure may be lower depending on the winning bid levels and future electricity price developments during the subsidy period.
The two tenders will open on Thursday 26 November and close on Thursday 10 December at 17:00. Permits are expected to be awarded in the first quarter of 2027. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland, RVO) will manage the tender process for both IJV Gamma-A and IJV Gamma-B.
