Osbit has opened a new 3,350-square-metre Assembly and Service Facility at the Port of Blyth in the UK, creating 33 jobs. The offshore wind engineering company developed the site with support from the Business Growth Fund, funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund by the Northeast Combined Authority, Gateshead Council, and Sunderland Council.
Part of Venterra Group, Osbit aims to strengthen collaboration across Venterra’s offshore wind businesses. The facility is now fully operational and has already supported the delivery of installation tools, a floating wind cable testing rig, and offshore access gangways.
