The Global Wind Energy Council has appointed Michael Hannibal as its new Chair. Hannibal, currently Chief Commercial Officer at Stiesdal Offshore and a Partner at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, will take over from Jonathan Cole for a two-year term.
Hannibal joined Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners in 2017 to lead its offshore wind activities and became Chief Commercial Officer at Stiesdal Offshore in April, following a partnership between the two companies to advance floating wind projects. He brings over 20 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, including more than seven years as CEO of Siemens Offshore Wind.
