Boskalis has completed the first deployment of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) from its Remote Operations Center in Aberdeen, following an 18-month development programme.
The facility expands the company’s remote operating capabilities by enabling subsea tasks to be supported and controlled from shore. It also serves as a central hub for fleet operations, providing additional on-demand expertise to offshore crews.
The centre has completed a test phase, during which ROVs were operated for a week from the construction support vessel BOKA Northern Ocean in the North Sea. The trials were designed to validate remote operations across a range of anticipated scenarios.
Boskalis plans to further develop the centre by integrating additional remote survey and inspection services.
