Buss Terminal Eemshaven (Netherlands) has completed a new heavy-lift quay at its facility in Julianahaven, marking the conclusion of the WINdQUAY project. The upgrade focuses on increasing the load-bearing capacity of sections of the existing quay to support heavy-lift vessels used in offshore wind turbine installation.
The development is intended to improve operational flexibility at the terminal. With the expanded infrastructure, the terminal can now accommodate up to two offshore wind farm projects at the same time. Project partners included Groningen Seaports, BAM, Elzinga, Witteveen+Bos, InVra plus and in2Dredging. The works were co-funded by CINEA.
