Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) has chosen Siemens Gamesa to supply 35 of its 14MW turbines for the 495MW Formosa 4 Offshore Wind Project off Taiwan’s west coast. The turbines will be delivered from Siemens Gamesa’s industrial nacelle factory in Taichung.
Formosa 4, located off Miaoli County, secured capacity in the first auction round of Phase 3 Zonal Development in late 2022 and received its establishment permit in late 2024. Once operational, the wind farm is expected to generate sufficient energy to supply around 500,000 households annually.
