Ocean Winds has signed conditional agreements with Siemens Gamesa for the supply of wind turbines and a service and maintenance contract for the BC‑Wind offshore wind farm. The agreements are subject to a Notice to Proceed from Ocean Winds.
The contract covers 26 turbines, each rated at 14 MW and equipped with a power boost function that can increase output to 15 MW. Installation and commissioning are planned for 2028. Terminal T5 in the Port of Gdańsk will be used as the marshalling harbour for pre‑assembly and load‑out operations, and Cadeler will transport and install the turbines with its O‑class vessels.
BC‑Wind is planned about 23 kilometres off the coast of the Krokowa and Choczewo municipalities in Poland’s Pomeranian Voivodeship. The project is expected to reach up to 390 MW in capacity and will cover an area of around 91 square kilometres. It already has environmental approvals for the offshore and onshore elements and holds a Contract for Difference, with a final investment decision anticipated later this year.
Ocean Winds is a joint venture formed by EDP Renewables and Engie in 2020 to focus on offshore wind.
