Next Geosolutions has been awarded two new contracts by Prysmian. The first contract concerns the Bay of Biscay interconnection, a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable system linking coastal areas of Spain and France. Between 2025 and 2027, Next Geosolutions will prepare the route and provide seabed services ahead of the cable installation phase to be carried out by Prysmian.
The scope of work includes boulder removal, a pre-lay grapnel run, installation of protective mattresses and a pre-lay survey.
The second contract covers marine survey services in offshore and nearshore areas of Dutch waters along the planned export cable routes for the future IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Nederwiek 1 offshore wind farms. Operations, scheduled between 2026 and 2027, will focus on geophysical and unexploded ordnance surveys to collect data to support the final design stage of the cable installation.
The agreements have a combined value of about € 20 million.
