Meta has signed four additional agreements with Invenergy for the supply of wind and solar energy totalling 791 MW. These contracts will help meet the company’s near-term electricity needs and support data centre expansion and wider clean energy targets.

This follows the 2024 announcement of a 1,000 MW procurement deal between the companies. With the new additions, the total volume of contracted energy under their partnership now reaches 1,800 MW. Electricity from the projects will be delivered to the local grid, with Meta receiving the associated clean energy credits. The four Invenergy-developed projects are located in the USA and are expected to become operational between 2027 and 2028:

  • Seaway Wind Energy Center, Texas – 196 MW (expected 2028)
  • Yellow Wood Solar Energy Center, Ohio – 300 MW (expected 2027)
  • Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center, Ohio – 140 MW (expected 2027)
  • Decoy Solar Energy Center, Arkansas – 155 MW (expected 2027)
