Saipem has introduced the LiSa Hyper Harness, a new safety device designed to monitor the fastening of workers’ safety belts during operations at height. The system aims to reduce risks and support safer working practices on construction sites.
The harness emits an acoustic signal if it detects a missing or incorrect connection to the fall protection system, similar to a car seat belt alert. It also sends an automatic notification to a supervisor, enabling a quick response. Equipped with sensors connected to a central platform, the system collects and analyses data to improve performance over time and encourage safe working behaviour.
Developed by Saipem in collaboration with Italian companies Confezioni Mario De Cecco and R13 Technology, the LiSa Hyper Harness is now in production and will be gradually introduced across Saipem’s worksites. The company also intends to explore broader use of the system with clients and partners.
