Ocergy has officially launched the Reduced Commercial Risks with Demo of 15+ MW (RECORD15) Joint Industry Project, which aims to install a next-generation wind turbine with rated capacity above 15 MW on an OCG-Wind floating platform by 2028.
A front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract has been signed with three international offshore wind developers: EnBW, Kyuden Mirai Energy, and Tepco Renewable Power. The OCG-Wind platform is a modular, turbine-agnostic design built from pre-fabricated steel sub-assemblies. It enables streamlined assembly and supports serial production using existing infrastructure and supply chains. The tower will feature a stiff-stiff configuration to address technical challenges associated with deploying large turbines on floating foundations.
