Lamprell has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dong Fang Offshore for the construction of a new NG-9000X wind turbine installation and maintenance vessel. The vessel, designed by GustoMSC, will support offshore wind projects in the Asia Pacific region and will be capable of handling the latest generation of turbines.
It will comply with Taiwanese shipping regulations and include a heavy-lift crane, DP-2 dynamic positioning, spud can-equipped legs for challenging seabed conditions, and onboard accommodation. The vessel will be able to transport and install two 15 MW-class turbines at the same time.
