DNV has released an updated edition of its DNV-ST-0359 standard, aimed at strengthening requirements for subsea power cable systems used in offshore wind projects. The revised standard expands its applicability to both static and dynamic subsea cables and places greater emphasis on interface management to help reduce the risk of failures.
It also introduces a clearer design structure, with more detailed requirements for engineering analysis. Further updates include refined definitions of load envelopes and design limits, as well as additional guidance covering cable protection, installation and project certification processes. DNV-ST-0359 is used as a reference framework for the design and verification of subsea cable systems in offshore wind developments.
