In Stock exchange announcement No. 27/2005 of 19 August 2005 and Stock exchange announcement No. 30/2005 of 16 September 2005, Vestas Wind Systems A/S informed that Enercon GmbH had taken out a writ against Vestas Wind Systems A/S and the Vestas Group’s German subsidiary Vestas Deutschland GmbH claiming the infringement of a patent concerning lightening protection of blades for wind turbines.

Vestas updates its expectations for a Group turnover in 2005 to approximately € 3.4 billion. The expected EBIT margin is reduced from approximately plus 4 per cent to approximately minus 3 per cent in response to continued severe component shortages, additional warranty provisions, revised product development plans, cost overruns on US projects, and adverse changes in the mix of margins of turbines for delivery in 2005. Vestas expects to reach a turnover in 2006 in the range of € 3.6-3.8 billion and an EBIT margin in the range of plus 4-7 per cent.

The Nordex Group recorded order receipts of € 280 million, an increase of 60% over the previous year (€ 175 million). In the third quarter alone, new business doubled. As of September 30, 2005, order books had risen in value by 88% to € 261 million (previous year: € 139 million).

The Utility Wind Interest Group (UWIG) has announced it will change its name to the Utility Wind Integration Group, effective January 1, 2006. The UWIG Board of Directors voted to make the change, as well as change the organisation's tax exempt corporate status. This name change provides a more clear focus on their role of serving as an objective source of knowledge and information in technical matters dealing with integration of wind energy into utility systems, while simultaneously keeping the UWIG logo, name recognition, and reputation.
