WindEurope Deputy CEO Malgosia Bartosik and European Commission Executive Vice President Roxana MinzatuWindEurope has joined the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA), committing to improve the availability, quality and visibility of apprenticeships across the wind energy sector in Europe. The wind industry currently employs nearly 400,000 people in Europe, with projections suggesting up to 600,000 will be needed by 2030. Addressing the shortage of skilled workers—particularly in vocational and technical roles—is a major challenge for the sector.

WindEurope’s pledge includes actions to support modern training programmes, raise awareness of vocational career paths, and promote apprenticeships to young people, women and underrepresented groups. The aim is to ensure apprenticeships become a recognised entry route into the wind workforce, contributing to a just and inclusive energy transition.

Through EAfA, WindEurope members gain access to a range of resources, including expert-led webinars, guidance tools, case studies and cross-sector collaboration opportunities to help improve apprenticeship programmes across the European Union.
