VinEnergo has announced plans to expand its renewable energy activities internationally, with an initial development portfolio of about 10 GW across projects in Asia and Europe. Over the next three years VinEnergo plans to increase its total renewable energy capacity to around 100 GW across multiple markets.

The expansion strategy includes projects in North America, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and Southeast Asia. VinEnergo is also assessing potential opportunities in Central Asia and Africa where electricity demand and decarbonisation targets are increasing.

In Northern Europe, VinEnergo has entered a partnership with GreenGo Energy to develop a renewable energy portfolio of around 2 GW in Denmark and Sweden. The company indicated that capacity in Northern Europe and the wider European market could expand to about 6.2 GW over time.

Several projects within the international portfolio began development in early 2026 and are expected to start operations between 2027 and 2028. VinEnergo will act as the main developer in a number of these projects and will hold majority ownership in several co-development agreements.

The company is also involved in offshore wind development in Vietnam, where it has been appointed investor for two offshore wind projects in Ha Tinh with a combined capacity of about 900 MW.

Additional onshore wind projects include the Hon Trau Wind Power Plant with a planned capacity of 750 MW and the Vinh Thuan Wind Power Project with a capacity of 143 MW.
