Boskalis has announced plans to invest in a high-capacity cable lay vessel expected to enter service in 2029. The vessel will be used for long-distance cable installation in the interconnector and offshore wind sectors, with a focus on high-voltage direct current cables.
The cable lay vessel will feature two 12,000-tonne cable carousels, including a concentric carousel. The vessel’s layout is designed to support the installation of longer continuous cable sections.
