Deme held the naming ceremony of its new jack-up offshore transport and installation vessel, Norse Energi, at its base in Flushing, the Netherlands. Norse Energi will begin operations in the Baltic Sea and the North Sea.
Its first projects include the Windanker offshore wind farm for Iberdrola in the German Baltic Sea, scheduled to start in June 2026, followed by Ørsted’s Hornsea 3 project in the United Kingdom, due to commence in the third quarter of 2026.
The vessel is purpose-built to transport and install next-generation wind turbines and XXL monopiles in water depths of up to 70 metres. It is equipped with a 3,200-tonne crane.
The design includes a hybrid power system and a 4.2 MWh battery system, intended to smooth power demand peaks and reduce reliance on diesel engines.
