The team behind Vineyard Wind has announced the launch of Vineyard Offshore – a company focused exclusively on the development of the rapidly expanding North American offshore wind market.
Vineyard Offshore will lead the development of two lease areas in the Northeast. Lease area OCS-A 522, known as Vineyard Northeast, is located off the coast of Massachusetts. In addition, the recently acquired lease area OCS-A 544, known as Vineyard Mid-Atlantic, is located in the New York Bight. Both lease areas are owned by the CI-IV fund managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). Combined with the 50% ownership of the Vineyard Wind 1 project, Vineyard Offshore has the potential to develop more than 4GW of clean energy on the East Coast of the United States.
Vineyard Offshore’s senior management team will be led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lars Pedersen. Mr. Pedersen was recently CEO of Vineyard Wind. Additional members of the leadership team include Chief Development Officer Rachel Pachter, General Counsel Jennifer Simon Lento and Klaus Skoust Moeller, CEO of the Vineyard Wind 1 project. The company currently has offices in Boston and New Bedford and plans to open a new office dedicated to Vineyard Offshore in New York City.
