Iberdrola’s Board has appointed Pedro Azagra as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Group, replacing Armando Martínez. Azagra previously served as CEO of the company’s USA subsidiary.
He has been with Iberdrola for 25 years, initially as Executive Director of Development, overseeing international expansion, and more recently leading the USA business for the past three years. Azagra holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from ICADE at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid, where he has also taught corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley before joining Iberdrola.
