Natural Power has expanded its Grid Services team with the appointment of two senior engineers, Ali Baker and Donald Eide, who will support clients in securing grid connections for new projects in the UK and internationally.
Ali Baker holds a Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Renewable Energy from the University of Aberdeen and has seven years of consultancy experience in the UK transmission and distribution sector. His work has included substation development, hydrogen integration and electrification, as well as advisory roles for clients such as OFTOs, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, lenders and developers.
Donald Eide joins from Ofgem, where he assessed transmission operators’ RIIO-ET3 business plans and provided recommendations on substation developments at 132 kV, 275 kV and 400 kV. He previously worked in engineering roles at Rolls-Royce and Spirax-Sarco and has academic qualifications in petroleum, environmental and renewable energy engineering, alongside ongoing studies in power systems engineering at the University of Manchester.
