In the first quarter of 2017, prior to the merger with Siemens Wind Power, Gamesa obtained €100 million net profit, 39% more than in the year-ago quarter. The figures do not include the merger with Siemens Wind Power, which was completed on 3 April. Revenues increased by 45% in the first quarter to €1,546 million as a result of strong growth in wind turbine manufacturing and sales and in the contribution by services.

TPI Composites has reported financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2017. Net sales for the three months ended March 31, 2017 increased by US$ 15.5 million or 8.8% to US$ 191.6 million compared to US$ 176.1 million in the same period in 2016. Net sales of wind blades increased by 11.9% to US$ 184.3 million for the three months ended March 31, 2017 as compared to US$ 164.7 million in the same period in 2016.

The Board of Directors of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy unanimously appointed Markus Tacke as the company's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The appointment takes effect immediately. Mr. Tacke succeeds Ignacio Martín, who in April announced to the Board his desire to step down once the merger had been completed and integration efforts were successfully underway.
