Wind Power Developments in Southeast Asia

cpa1While the market in China shows a slowdown, other Asian countries (particularly in Southeast Asia) are experiencing a surge of interest in wind power. This was evident at Clean Power Asia 2013, held on 29–30 April in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference, which was attended by around 200 participants, offered a range of specialised sessions on renewable energy developments. Windtech International joined the event as a media partner.
 

China Wind Power 2012

New Opportunities and Challenges of the Wind Industry

cwp12On 15–17 November 2012, the fifth China Wind Power Conference & Exhibition (CWP2012) was held in Beijing. The event was organised by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) in cooperation with the China Wind Energy Association and the China Renewable Energy Industry Association. This year’s theme was ‘New Opportunities and Challenges of the Wind Industry: From Quantity to Quality’. Windtech International joined the event as a media partner. The conference programme offered a range of specialised sessions and side events, attended by 2,500 participants. Presentations and discussions covered, among other things, enhancing the reliability and quality of wind turbines and components, as well as improved resource assessment and forecasting. At the exhibition, nearly 400 companies showcased their products and services to around 27,000 visitors.

HUSUM WindEnergy 2012

husum4On Saturday 22 September 2012 HUSUM WindEnergy drew to a close. This year’s fair attracted a record number of visitors (almost 36,000). And the total of 1,171 exhibitors demonstrates a growth of 20% compared with the 2010 fair. This year, for the first time, Windtech International published the HUSUM Daily, which was very well received by both visitors and exhibitors. In this short review we try to give a brief summary of this year’s HUSUM for those who were not able to attend.

EWEA 2012

Innovating Today, Shaping Tomorrow

ewea2Every year the EWEA Annual Event brings together companies and individuals that play an active role in shaping the future of our industry and creating the innovations today that will be so crucial for building a better tomorrow for wind energy. This year EWEA 2012 was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 16 till 19 April. Around 450 exhibitors came from all over Europe and beyond to make themselves known to the 10,000 or so visitors who attended the event. This year’s theme was 'Innovating today, shaping tomorrow'. Innovation is a recurring theme in many of our articles and a visit to EWEA 2012 was a great way to be kept informed about the latest developments and to get inspiration for future articles.

HUSUM WindEnergy 2008

International Trade Fair for the Wind Power Industry

ImageThis year HUSUM WindEnergy, with its accompanying trade symposia, took place from 9 to 13 September. This was the first edition where Husum Messe and Hamburg Messe joined forces after competing for several years with separate shows. More than 700 exhibitors from about 35 countries, among them all major global turbine manufacturers as well as suppliers and providers from all industry sectors, presented themselves at the exhibition. The event attracted almost 30,000 attendees from 40 nations. Over 23,000 of the visitors came from outside Germany.

HUSUMwind 2007

The international wind energy industry is booming, and with it HUSUMwind

ImageThis year HUSUMwind, with its accompanying trade symposia, took place from 18 to 22 September. For the tenth time, the international wind power industry met in the North Frisian town of Husum. With 640 exhibitors from 30 countries, visitors needed plenty of time to see all the products and services on display. Around 18,000 visitors from 40 nations attended the event this year.
