RWE has expanded its renewable construction portfolio in Italy to a total of 235 MW, following the start of additional wind and solar projects in 2026. After initiating construction of 112 MW of wind and solar capacity in 2025, the company has begun a further 123 MW in 2026. This brings the total capacity currently under construction in Italy to 235 MW.
In 2026, RWE started building the Alas onshore wind farm, which will comprise ten 6.6 MW turbines with a combined capacity of 66 MW. Commissioning is scheduled for 2027. Construction of the Serra Giannina wind farm is expected to begin in the coming weeks. The project secured support in Italy’s FER-X auction and will involve the installation of six turbines in Potenza, in the Basilicata region, with a total capacity of 42 MW. The construction portfolio also includes photovoltaic plants in Campania, as well as agri-photovoltaic projects in Campania, Sicily and Calabria.
