The Dutch government expects to open the permit application process for the IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A offshore wind site in September 2026. The permit will cover the construction and operation of an offshore wind farm with a planned capacity of around 1 GW.
The permit will be awarded through a competitive tender process, with the licence granted to the highest-scoring application. The project forms part of the Netherlands’ climate and energy policy framework. A total budget of €2.5 billion has been reserved for the development. Of this amount, €0.9 billion is allocated from the Climate Fund and €1.6 billion from the SDE++ support scheme. The maximum tender amount is set at €104 per megawatt hour of electricity generated.
