Fortum has completed the acquisition of a project development portfolio from German developer ABO Energy. The portfolio comprises around 4.4 GW of onshore wind projects at various stages in Finland.
The purchase price of approximately € 40 million was paid at closing. The transaction also includes earn-out payments linked to projects reaching a final investment decision, bringing the estimated total price to about € 65 million. No investment commitments have been made, and future decisions will depend on power market conditions, with particular attention to industrial power demand.
Fortum’s pipeline of onshore wind and solar projects in the permit process across the Nordic region now totals about 8 GW.
