The wind farm is expected to be fully operational before the summer and while construction works are still under way, the first turbine has started producing green.The 219MW project comprises of 23 MHI Vestas 164-9.5MW turbines supplying the equivalent of 230.000 households with green energy via Elia’s Modular Offshore Grid. Northwester 2 is a project company holding a 219MW concession in de Belgian territorial waters. Current shareholders are Parkwind (70%) and Sumitomo Corporation (30%). Parkwind has been in charge of the development and is managing construction and operational activities. The company is headquartered in Leuven (Belgium) and will operate from the Ostend harbor.
