On 8 September 2016, A2SEA installed the first turbine on DONG Energy’s Burbo Bank Extension. The first turbine out of the 32 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines was installed by the crew on board SEA INSTALLER.
For the next months, the vessel will install the turbines being shipped from Belfast. SEA INSTALLER is able to carry four 8MW turbines at a time. Burbo Bank Extension is owned by DONG Energy. The wind farm has a total capacity of 258MW and is situated 6 km from shore. The wind farm is expected to be fully commissioned in the first half of 2017.
