Doosan Enerbility’s 10MW offshore wind turbine model (DS205 10MW) has received type certification from UL. This model is an upgraded version of the company’s earlier 8MW turbine developed in 2022.
The certification process was based on validated design and testing data gathered between February and April in Yeonggwang, South Jeolla Province. The DS205 turbine features a 205-metre rotor diameter and stands around 230 metres tall. It is engineered to maintain a capacity factor above 30% even in low wind conditions of 6.5 metres per second.
