Managing power curves has traditionally been difficult for the wind industry. Despite large-scale project capabilities, power curve data is often shared in non-standard PDF formats, which makes handling the information time-consuming and error-prone for developers and consultants.
Bézier is a new software platform designed to simplify this process. Users can create free accounts and request project partners to share power curves digitally. The data can then be exported directly to standard yield software. Maintaining a library of power curves on Bézier is free, while a professional tier is available for users processing large volumes of digitised documents.
The platform is built to comply with the upcoming IEC 61400-16 standard for digital power curve data. Bézier was developed by Wind Pioneers in collaboration with Tom Clark of Octue, a contributor to the standard.
By offering a centralised solution for power curve data, Bézier aims to reduce manual work and improve consistency across wind energy projects.
