US administration to appeal offshore wind court rulings

The US administration plans to appeal several court rulings that have blocked attempts to halt construction of offshore wind farms, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said in an interview with Bloomberg Television.

Burgum stated that offshore wind farms could pose a national security risk if they interfere with radar systems or increase vulnerability to drone attacks. The US administration has also argued that the projects are unreliable, costly and should not receive taxpayer subsidies.
