The 2026 Xiongan International Green Energy Technology Award competition took place in Xiongan, China's planned future city near Beijing. World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) Secretary General Stefan Gsänger served on the award selection jury and participated in choosing the winners. The 2026 award was won by Marine Power Systems for its PelaFlex GS platform for deep-water offshore wind turbines.
A total of 12 finalists competed for the International Green Energy Technology Award, representing a broad range of technologies, including smart energy systems for urban areas, renewable energy technologies, electric vehicles and energy storage, hydrogen and artificial intelligence applications.
More than 400 entries from China and overseas were submitted. Following the evaluation process, 113 technologies, products, equipment and system solutions advanced to the final stage, including 12 international and Hong Kong and Macao entries. A separate national competition was also held for Chinese participants.
The 12 finalists were:

- Europäisch-Chinesischer Verein für Wissenschaft und Technologie – Solar-Powered Electric Scooter with Aviation Materials and Internet of Things technology
- Hong Kong Productivity Council – High-Power Hydrogen Fuel Cell Genset for Construction Sites
- Marine Power Systems – PelaFlex GS: Guyed Spar Platform for Deep-Water Wind Turbines
- North America Innovation Association – The Energy Astrolabe of the Artificial Intelligence Era: Integrated Green Energy and Computing Power Coordination Platform
- North America Innovation Association – Carbon-Exploring the Future: Integrated Energy Storage Solutions Based on THMC Multiphysics Coupling Simulation

Located near Beijing, Xiongan was established by the Chinese government as a model city integrating renewable energy, environmental sustainability, digital technologies and artificial intelligence, while aiming to provide a high quality of life for residents.
