The revision reflects the group’s response to challenges that have emerged as offshore wind development has expanded since the previous edition in 2014.

The updated document sets out guidance on liaison, communication and information exchange between offshore renewable energy sectors and the fishing industry across all project phases. It explains when and how engagement should take place, and outlines approaches to help reduce and address potential impacts on fishing activity.

FLOWW was established in 2002 to encourage constructive relations between the two sectors and support co-existence across the UK. The Crown Estate funds the Chair and Secretariat roles.

The guidance is being launched on Thursday 27 November at Fishmongers’ Hall in London and is available from The Crown Estate’s website.
