Racing Aeolus

Wind Energy Events presents the first edition of Racing Aeolus, the sole, most innovative wind powered vehicle race in the world.

The event will be held, in Den Helder, the Netherlands, from August 20 to 23, 2008. 9 University and company teams will have a go at competing with one of natures biggest forces: wind. In their battle against Aeolus they will attempt to sail straight into the wind on a 5.3 kilometres seawall on the boundary between land an sea. Participants will have to ride their own, unique, custom designed, built and tested wind powered vehicles. From preparation to finish participants will be put to the test. Steadfastness, cooperation, endurance & dauntlessness: a great deal is expected of the teams to face this challenge.
