The merger between Gamesa and Siemens Wind Power becomes effective today (April 3), after the registration of the combined company in the Mercantile Registry of Biscay, in Spain. This was the last step required to close the transaction announced in June 2016, after fulfillment of all the conditions precedent and other closing actions.

LM Windpower increased its sales by 41% to € 1,059 million, due to higher volumes driven by strong demand, plus the inclusion of Brazil (which was not consolidated for 11.5 months of 2015 during the period when it was a joint venture). EBITDA increased by 69% to € 174 million, due mainly to revenue growth and again the consolidation of Brazil.

Former GE Offshore and Vestas Offshore CEO Anders Søe-Jensen becomes new Chairman of the company Bladena, which develops and manufactures technology solutions and improvements for wind turbines. Anders Søe-Jensen's role in the company is among others to help get Bladena’s technologies implemented widely in the industry.

Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB Inbev) has announced a commitment to secure 100% of the company’s purchased electricity from renewable sources by 2025. In total, this will shift 6 terawatt-hours of electricity annually to renewable sources in the markets where AB InBev operates. As part of this initiative, AB InBev expects to secure 75-85% of electricity through direct power purchasing agreements.
