Vestas has secured an order for turbine supply at the 25MW Torshavn onshore wind project, located just outside the capital of the Faroe Islands, from Vindrøkt, a special purpose vehicle owned by Røkt and Effo.
Six V117-4.2MW Vestas turbines will power the Torshavn project. The turbines will rise to a hub height of 91.5 metres, and will have a high wind operation mode applied, due to mean wind speeds of over 9 m/s found at the site. Turbines are due to be delivered and commissioned by the end of 2021. Vestas will also provide service for the project through a 20-year service agreement.
