Ocean Winds, a 50–50 joint venture between EDP Renewables and Engie, has announced the installation of the offshore electrical substation for the Dieppe – Le Tréport offshore wind farm (EMDT), developed in consortium with Sumitomo Corporation and Banque des Territoires.
The substation was designed and built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique at its Saint-Nazaire shipyard. Its steel jacket foundation was supplied by Navantia (Spain), and offshore installation was carried out by Deme using the vessel Gulliver. Once operational, the substation will collect electricity from the site’s 62 turbines and transfer it to shore via grid infrastructure developed by French transmission system operator Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE).
