Nordex gained new orders comprising in total 84MW for its N117/2400 wind turbine. Most of these projects had previously been conditional order backlog.
This involves a total of 35 turbines for ten wind farms in the German states of Hesse, Bavaria, Thuringia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg. The customers include Abowind AG, WSB, Planet Energy GmbH (Greenpeace), Green City Energy and other citizen wind farms. To make optimum use of low-wind locations, Nordex is mostly installing the N117/2400, which has been specially developed for such wind sites, on top of hybrid towers with a height of 141 metres. All the projects will be executed from summer 2013 onwards for completion in the course of the year.
