The HSI Joint Venture, comprising HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv, has completed the offshore installation of the OSS Jasmund offshore substation at the Ostwind 3 site in the Baltic Sea. The installation for the Ostwind 3 project included the 72-metre-high jacket and a structure weighing more than 4,000 tonnes developed for 50Hertz.
With the main offshore structures in place, the project now moves into offshore testing and commissioning. Once operational, OSS Jasmund will provide 300 MW of grid connection capacity and will connect the Windanker offshore wind farm to the onshore transmission network.
OSS Jasmund is the first of three offshore substations being delivered by the HSI Joint Venture for 50Hertz. Under the OST-6-1 grid connection, OSS Zingst will connect the Gennaker East offshore wind farm, while OSS Darß will connect the Gennaker West offshore wind farm.
