Amazon has signed agreements covering four wind energy projects in Sweden, bringing its investments in large-scale wind projects in the country to nine, with an estimated combined capacity of almost 1 GW (985 MW). The projects are being developed by Scandinavian renewable energy companies OX2 and Eolus and are located across central and southern Sweden.
The new agreements cover:
- Fageråsen: developed by OX2, Eolus and Dala Vind, with a capacity of 132 MW, in Malung-Sälen, Dalarna.
- Boarp (Saena portfolio): developed by Eolus and owned by Mirova, with a capacity of 17.5 MW, in Vaggeryd, Jönköping.
- Dållebo (Saena portfolio): developed by Eolus and owned by Mirova, with a capacity of 18 MW, in Ulricehamn, Västra Götaland.
- Fågelås (Saena portfolio): developed by Eolus and owned by Mirova, with a capacity of 31.5 MW, in Hjo, Västra Götaland.
The three Saena projects are already operational and supply electricity to the Swedish grid. Construction of the Fageråsen wind farm started earlier this year.
