Airstream Renewables, the wind development arm of NexGen Energy, has been awarded three onshore wind projects in the Philippines with a combined potential capacity of 1.7 GW. The Department of Energy has issued wind energy service contracts and registration certificates for the 600 MW Pangasinan Onshore Wind Power Project, the 600 MW Samar Onshore Wind Power Project, and the 500 MW Nueva Ecija Onshore Wind Power Project.
The Pangasinan project will span 13,770 hectares and connect to the NGCP Labrador substation through an 8-kilometre 230-kV line. The Samar project will cover 16,929 hectares and link to the NGCP Victoria substation via a 7-kilometre 138-kV line. The Nueva Ecija project will occupy 9,234 hectares and connect to the NGCP Sampaloc substation through a 15-kilometre 230-kV line. The developer may invest up to $2.5 billion to progress the portfolio.
